OHC – ONCOLOGY HEMATOLOGY CARE

After completing several projects for OHC, Perry Contracting was tasked with renovating a 10,000 square foot space for their mid-town clinic. This project presented many challenges, but the greatest of these was minimal ceiling height. OHC had hoped for an open airy space, but the distance from floor slab to the concrete deck above was a mere 9’. There was no way to go up with an occupied space above, but we determined we could go down. Thus began the process of removing 10,000 square feet of concrete floor slab and 25,000 cubic feet of dirt to lower the floor level by nearly 3 feet. This operation was completed without disrupting the business on the floor above. This new lower floor level negated being able to use the existing building drains (they were too high) and required the installation of a dual pump sewage lift station within the building. The finished office is a bright and inviting space that hopefully lifts the spirits of all who enter the doors.
